EMMAUS EXPERIENCE
During a very personal crisis in my life, I was encouraged by my pastor and members of my church, all of whom had taken their walk, that I should consider taking a walk myself. Boy was I glad I finally listened to people that were truly concerned about me and my family. I had this personal crisis in my life for one reason and one reason only—I had removed God from my daily walk in life. Not knowing what to expect, I was hoping for mainly 2 things: 1.Reconnect myself with my Lord and Savior and 2. Put a final closure to my personal issues. Even though I had experienced God’s forgiveness (1 John 1:9) and the forgiveness of my lovely wife of 32 years, there was still something missing. Through my walk experience and through “Dying Moments” I realized what was missing. I had not forgiven myself and was not acting like a forgiven sinner. These 72 hours of reconnecting and experiencing the love and support of fellow pilgrims, was a life changing event for me and also became one for my wife and family. My wife has just completed her application and is ready to go herself. From a Baptist, I want to thank my Methodist brothers for allowing me to experience this personal revival in my life.
A sinner saved by the grace of God,
